Membership Guidelines
1. Member blogs must have crafty, artsy stuff posted regularly. Quilting, knitting, painting, sculpting, beading, drawing all fit. All creative endeavors are welcome.
2. Members must be real people. No businesses.
3. Members must have a "career" outside of their creative flow. This includes stay at home moms (there is no career more time consuming than motherhood), fulltime time students, and anyone else who spends 80% of their time devoted to something else.
4. Member blogs must have the Artful On the Side logo with navigation links: previous, next, random, join, and list. Doesn't make sense as a webring if you don't have it.

Why join this ring?
Artful on the side has a focus on the real person trying to create a little color in an already hectic life. Artful on the side is for the creative weekend warrior, trying to start and finish the project before Monday comes along. The evening workhorse trying to press out that last few seams before a child cries out for attention or the oven timer rings. People fitting art into their lives.
I love to read creative blogs. Real love. I could do it all day if the real world permitted. Trouble is, after reading a few, I'm sometimes left with an empty feeling in my own work and productivity. A sweater in three days? A quilt done in a week? Why can't I get more done? I regularly tell myself, it is all about perspective. Artful on the side brings perspective.
